Mixed Media Artist

Jen Charleson is a lifelong artist and Bristol native with a love for all manner of creative expression. Her three constants have always been visual art, poetry, music; and her first art shows, performances and poetry readings all happened here in Bristol RI.
Ms. Charleson’s studio in Warren’s well known 30 Cutler Street has been an incubator of sorts to a number of artists since 2008. She currently shares her expansive workspace with an group of artisanal jewelers and illustrators. In addition to using the workspace for her own creativity, she hosts open studios, and teaches occasional classes throughout the year.
An intuitive artist influenced by sacred geometry, sound waves, physics, meditation, and the cosmos; her technique aspires to add a “human touch” to subject matter that is too often depicted as cold and scientific. “Everything truly is connected, so I hope my work helps people relate to the mysteries of science and the universe in a more personal way.”
A mixed media artist in every sense of the expression, her work breaks rules, crosses mediums, conflates ideas, and even conveys a sense that it exists in the past and present simultaneously. The result is earthy and organic artworks with complex textures that somehow feel other worldly.
